About this Event
The Nervous System Regulation Playshop is a structured, science-based experiential workshop designed to provide intellectually curious adults with a chance to try out several techniques for nervous system regulation in one afternoon.
In recent years, neuroscientists have discovered various reliable methods to shift our autonomic nervous state from sympathetic (fight/flight) to parasympathetic (rest/digest). There has been an influx of articles, books, and videos that explain the science of the nervous system, which is pretty interesting. However, retaining intellectual knowledge about how our brains work does nothing to actually improve the quality of our lives.
That’s why this event was created to bridge the gap between knowledge and implementation. We make it easy for you to put theory into practice and take the results home with you. Over the course of an afternoon, you’ll have the opportunity to experiment with several techniques, including:
- Vagus nerve stimulator
- Breathing patterns
- Sensory exercises
All activities are optional. Participants are completely free to pick and choose to participate in whatever interests them, without pressure. Consider this to be your own personal neuroscience laboratory where you’ll collect firsthand data about how your own nervous system responds to the different techniques.
You’ll leave deeply relaxed and with a concrete plan for which technique(s) you want to implement in your daily life moving forward. Our goal is for this to be more than just a chill afternoon spent with some cool people (although it will be that, too!) We want to make this the most efficient process possible for you to incorporate nervous system regulation into your daily life.
Who this is for: This playshop is for intellectually curious high performers who value evidence-based approaches and want to discover through guided experimentation which nervous system regulation techniques work best for them. No prior knowledge or experience is required. Introverts welcomed! (There is no forced interaction or personal sharing.)
Who this is NOT for: This playshop is not for people looking for group therapy or a place to process trauma verbally. It’s focused solely on practical techniques for present-moment nervous system regulation.
