About this Event
Overview
An Intermediate 6 week Nerdlesque & Character Workshop with Jayne Fondue! Leading up to a performance on May 1 at the York Theatre!
About this event
Have you taken a previous Nerdlesque for Newbies class and feel the urge to take your performance to the next level? Now's your chance to polish those rhinestones and sharpen your skills with this Nerdlesque for Twobies class!
What's all this then?
Come join Jayne Fondue in this six-week progressive nerdlesque class.
Do you feel the pull of the dark side? Wether you're first in the order, or a secret rebel, we want you as a new recruit.
This gender-inclusive, body-positive intensive for performers will also cover what goes into creating professional-level production numbers that are fun, cheeky, funny, and created to your level to make you look your best!
You'll learn intermediate level choreography, formations, and how to refine your stage presence and performance.
May the 1st be with you:
This class culminates in a group performance in Geekenders' newest show, HOTH 2 GO!: A Sci-Fi Burlesque Variety Show' Performed at the York Theatre on Friday, May 1st, 2026.
Theme: Stormtroopers
Stormtroopers: A group of ruthless, identical, soldiers... You won't be that, but you will be some villainous babes with killer dance moves.
Style:
This piece will be a more jazz dance style with burlesque flair, and Geekender's campy and nerdy twist, of course.
What do you need?
Yourself, a person of any (adult) age, background, or gender(optional)
A desire to perform, an eagerness to learn, and a willingness to get outside your comfort zone!
A tolerance for puns
As this is an Intermediate-level class, previous experience/comfort in a dance-class environment is helpful!
You will be guided through the process of creating a costume for this number: details will be discussed the first week of class.

About The Instructor
Jayne Fondue is a long time teacher, choreographer, and performer with Geekenders. Trained since she could walk in most styles of dance, Jayne studied contemporary dance in SFU’s School for the Contemporary Arts, and has been doing Burlesque and choreography professionally with Geekenders since 2014.
Since that time, she has performed in multiple provinces and internationally, and has been involved with countless shows as a performer, choreographer, stage manager, and space mom. She is also an absolute goblin, and fully embraces that clown life on stage.
