Learn how to recognise the signs, start the conversation, and support someone in distress.QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) is a practical, evidence-based suicide prevention training designed for everyday people who want to build the skills and confidence to help others. This interactive four-hour workshop will give you the tools to recognise warning signs of suicide, ask the question directly, and respond appropriately by encouraging help-seeking and connecting people with local support.
What you’ll learn:
✅ How to recognise warning signs, risk factors, and protective factors
✅ How to ask about suicide in a supportive and direct way
✅ Skills to engage in meaningful, compassionate conversations
✅ How to provide immediate support and assistance
✅ How to connect people with local services and referral pathways
✅ Confidence and resilience to respond to crisis situations
Sessions are delivered by QPR Certified Peer Coordinators with lived experience of suicide or suicide bereavement, creating a safe, authentic, and supportive learning environment.
This free training is suitable for community members, staff, volunteers, parents, educators, and frontline workers. Together, we can strengthen our community’s ability to respond with care, confidence, and compassion.
