About this Event
What are Neighbourhood Action Days?
These are community-driven events organised by InExeter, designed to bring together local residents, businesses, and charities to clean, plant, and refresh areas of Exeter’s city centre.
Activities include litter picking, planting, weeding, and renovating street furniture.
Everyone is welcome - whether you’re a gardening enthusiast, a business team, or simply keen to help out.
All equipment and refreshments are provided, and you also don’t need to stay for the whole day.
What to expect on the day?
We start at 10am with introductions, a Health and Safety briefing, and an outline of what tasks we'll be completing on the day.
The exact meeting location will be confirmed over email nearer the time; this will be somewhere you can safely leave your bags and have access to toilets.
You'll be working in small groups on tasks along the street.
There will be a morning coffee break, time at lunch to pause, and an afternoon break too, with refreshments and lunch provided for everyone. Any dietary requirements will be requested over email.
If you need to have a break at any time during the day, you're welcome to do so.
What to bring? What to wear?
All tools and equipment are provided, including gloves and high-vis vests. Food and refreshments will also be provided, but do bring a water bottle.
Wear shoes and clothes you're comfortable in and don't mind getting dirty.
How to get involved?
Register to attend a Neighbourhood Action Day through this Eventbrite page.
Business and charity groups interested in joining can contact InExeter for tailored involvement if needed.
You'll be kept informed via email, including reminders on what to expect, what to bring, and where to meet.
Please note that if there are any weather warnings for the day, we will see if plans need to change and communicate this over email in advance.
Supported by ECC Cleansing Team
Exeter City Council’s cleansing team works alongside volunteers, providing enhanced cleaning and logistical support to maximise the impact of each event.
