A workshop that explores the services and support available to Parents of children after 16 with Special Educational Needs in Hertfordshire.About this Event
Evidence Base: Parents and carers are bewildered by the language, professional services, and systems (health, education and social care) they need to understand and navigate to get the support they need for their post 16 young person.
Objective: Parents and carers will feel more confident and able to navigate the complexities of the Post 16 SEND world, so they can access the support they need for their family
Workshop Content:
- Introduction to the language of Post 16
- Young people's health services
- Post 16 education and services
- Family & Adult social care services
- Support services for parents and carers
Learning Outcomes:
- Learn the acronyms and language of Post-16
- Understand referral systems
- Be able to navigate the Herts SEND Local Offer and gain knowledge of services and support across post 16 health, education and Family and Adult social care
- Feel confident about what to do next and how to access the Post-16 support and services they need
