How can you equip pupils with the knowledge and skills they need to navigate the online world safely and responsibly?
About this Event

Teaching in today’s classroom it’s hard not to marvel at just how digitally literate pupils are. Children have grown up surrounded by technology. They can often use iPads before they can write, are fluent in emojis, and live in an age where they can access the internet anywhere, at any time.

This increased connectivity brings a whole host of benefits but also presents a unique challenge for today's teachers when it comes to keeping pupils safe online. Without proper guidance and education, pupils can be at risk of cyberbullying, exposure to inappropriate content, and other safeguarding concerns.

The following webinar with Online Safety UK, will explore how we can provide pupils with the knowledge and skills they need to navigate the digital world responsibly as technology becomes increasingly integral to education.

  • What is online safety?
  • Why is it important for schools?
  • What are the current safeguarding concerns?
  • How can schools keep children safe online?

In discussing strategies and practical tips to help you keep pupils safe online, the broadcast will explore how you can take part in further research in the field and run a FREE online survey, designed to help identify how technology use can affect children's thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and vulnerabilities. All participants will be invited to a later webinar to explore how the findings can be turned into actions that help update guidance, support, messaging, and policy around the online world.

Online Safety UK provides training, resources, and information to help schools support their pupils online.
