About this Event
Taking place during the Evident Nature exhibition, this workshop invites participants to see the botanical world through a new lens. In this hands-on workshop, artist Caroline Guilbert guides you into the world of natural color through the practice of botanical bundle dyeing.
Using flowers and plant materials, you will learn how pigments can be transferred directly onto fabric through a gentle steaming process. Working with silk handkerchiefs, each participant will create a one-of-a-kind textile shaped by nature’s colors, textures, and organic unpredictability.
Rooted in Caroline’s artistic practice of working with food and flower waste, this workshop offers an introduction to natural dyes used in contemporary art, while encouraging a deeper connection to the materials and processes of the natural world.
No prior experience is needed: just curiosity and a desire to explore.
