About this Event

Join the San Francisco Bee Garden Tour!

Kick off Planet Bee Foundation’s Native Bee Garden Tour Series with a special, family-friendly event at the iconic Randall Museum in San Francisco.

Founded in 1951, the Randall Museum is one of the city’s most beloved community science and nature centers, offering free, hands-on experiences that connect visitors of all ages to the natural world. This event brings together film, science, and local action in a unique community science experience.

Guests will enjoy a free screening of National Geographic’s Secrets of the Bees in the museum’s theater. This visually stunning documentary explores the hidden world inside a hive, revealing the intelligence, complexity, and critical role bees play in pollinating one-third of the food we eat.

In addition to the film, participants will take part in a series of interactive pollinator activities designed to extend beyond a single event:

  • Bee Bingo: Pick up your Bee Bingo card and complete activities across all three garden tour events for a chance to win a special prize at the end of the series
  • Community Science Bioblitz: Contribute to real-world data collection using iNaturalist by documenting pollinators during our guided “bee hunting” activity. Participants will have the opportunity to earn prizes for their observations during the bioblitz period
  • Learn how to support native bees through pollinator-friendly plants and habitat creation

This event is hosted by Planet Bee Foundation in collaboration with the Randall Museum and the California Native Plant Society, highlighting the importance of native plants and pollinator habitats in supporting biodiversity and climate resilience across California.

Whether you’re a student, educator, family, or nature enthusiast, this event offers a meaningful and engaging way to learn, explore, and take action for pollinators.
