There will be an open mic followed by a 2-round poetry slam.
WHAT IS A POETRY SLAM?
A poetry slam is a competition during which poets perform original work on stage. Each poem is scored by 3-5 random judges in the audience. The highest scored poets move to the next round.
WANT TO JUDGE THE SLAM?
Anyone can be a judge at a slam, even if it’s your first one. As a slam judge you must make sure you use the same criteria to judge every poem. What that criteria is remains up to you. Don’t be shy about giving scores. Poets in slams sign up to be judged!
When you arrive at the event, tell the host you want to judge.
