Stageplay by: Corey Shields
Directed by: E'tian LaRue
Imagine...
If Martin Luther King, Jr. had the opportunity to speak with
Huey P. Newton, and he had the chance to talk with Kunta Kinte,
and if he could have spoken to W.E.B. Dubois, and
he conversed with Stacey Abrams.
Sticks and Stones may break my bones, but words will never...
Wait a minute! What do the words have to do with it?
The words, NEGRO, COLORED, BLACK, AFRICAN AMERICAN, and yes,
the Notorious "N" word,
discuss their troubled pasts and take on their complicated futures to
determine whose NAME Drops next, all while playing a game of Spades.
You play a role in this intriguing play, Name Dropping, as they debate who the
community wants to represent the People in today's World.
The performance is followed by a Q&A with the cast!
Come Listen to the Conversation!
