About this Event
Mystic Undertone is a living, breathing jazz collaboration built around the musical chemistry of Jerred (piano) and Zeke (bass). At its core, the project is fluid—expanded by a cast of local players who drift in and out of the soundscape. One night it might be a saxophone weaving through the mix, another a guitar or unexpected instrumentation adding new texture. No two performances are the same.
Their sets move effortlessly between timeless standards, reimagined pop, and open-ended improvisation—blurring the line between structure and spontaneity. Jerred and Zeke, transplants from Houston’s heat and Chicago’s chill, bring the grit, discipline, and groove of their respective cities into a shared musical language shaped as much by contrast as by connection.
What emerges is more than a show—it’s a conversation. Between players, between influences, and between the music and the room itself. Mystic Undertone offers a modern, inviting take on jazz: lush, exploratory, and energetically fun.
