About this Event
Myrrh, Myrrhophores, Remembrance – Talk, Ceremony, Sound Journey,
31st October the eve of "The Day of the Death".
Sharing my passion for the ancient tradition of the Myrrhophores, the sacred funerary plant of ancient civilizations, the goddess association with Myrrh in her role as goddess of Death and Mourning and Re-Membering, we gather in remembrance of the loved ones in spirit on the day that my people called “sa die de su Mortu” (the Day of the Death).
The talk and ceremony will cover the following subjects:
· Myrrh - Myrrh, a Funerary Herb of ancient civilizations
· Myrrhophores – who were the Myrrhophores and why Myrrh?
· Myrrh, Magic and the "The Weeping of Isis" - Re-Membering - ancient Egyptian mythology.
· My archaic Sardinian tradition, “sa die de su Mortu” shrouded in the mystery of the holy days of the Souls
· Namibian Myrrh Sacred Oil Anointing, honouring the ancestors and the grandmothers
Ritual and Visionary Sound Journey
- Myrrh incense to honour the death and “honouring your ancestors” Ritual
- Visionary Sound Journey –bathing in the calm and stillness that comforting Myrrh instils, we bring closure with meditative sonic frequencies, meeting our ancestors.
