About this Event
Mycelium has recently become a point of focus for sustainable materials. Beyond medicinal attributes, mushroom can teach us so much about circularity. The workshop is led by Osmose Studio's founders, expert in the field of myco-materials for over 6 years. Having worked for prestigious clients growing furniture and interior pieces, Osmose shares its know-how for a completely beginner-friendly session.

What you will learn
- The life-cycle of fungi
- What amazing things fungi can do (medicinal, materials, neurological)
- Preparing your cast
- Packing substrate for casting your mycelium object
- How to make your mycelium object incubate correctly
- How to cast with our BioCast mycelium substrate
- How to best care for your cured mycelium object
- Working in a clean environment for mushroom handling

About Osmose Mycelium Unearthed Pop-Up @LDF23
Osmose Studio is presenting the first ever 100% fungi pop-up, showcasing their myco-materials and grown pieces. As official partners of the London Design Festival 2023, the studio is launching its debut homeware and furniture collection.
About the Organiser
Osmose Studio was established in 2021 by biodesigners Aurelie Fontan and Ashley Granter. Pioneering bio-fabrication with mycelium for the home, the studio has worked for Michelin restaurants, key academic institutions and established design studios. They support a regenerative approach in design, with a circular mindset to limit design’s impact on the planet.
