My Chérie is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer whose performances blur the line between vulnerability and power. Raised in South Africa and now based on Kaurna Land (Adelaide), she crafts music that moves between introspective softness and electrifying energy — weaving alt-pop, folk/rock and cinematic indie into an immersive emotional world. She has already supported global icons Lenny Kravitz and Jet at the 2025 BP Grand Final, and is scheduled to perform at WOMADelaide 2026, cementing her place as one of Australia’s most compelling emerging acts.
Originally emerging as a solo live-looping artist, My Chérie quickly made her mark — winning Best Live Act in South Australia at the National Live Music Awards for her striking one-woman shows. She has since expanded into performing with a dynamic full band, evolving her sound into something emotive, textural, and expansive. Comparisons have been drawn to Florence + The Machine, Phoebe Bridgers, Wolf Alice, and Samia.
A queer, neurodivergent, and culturally diverse artist, Chérie explores identity, heartbreak, faith, and the beauty of living outside the norm — offering listeners both catharsis and connection. She remains devoted to creating music that feels intimate, honest, and alive, inviting audiences into a world where softness and strength coexist.
Now, celebrating her latest EP Life is Short & Life is Long, My Chérie is coming to Naarm for a special headline show at The Tote, joined by incredible the incredible Norwood (Duo) and El Tee.
