Can you keep up with life — without losing yourself in it? An honest conversation on finding peace without stepping away.
About this Event

Peace is the word we use when we mean something more honest. Like: I'm tired. I've been holding it together. I don't know who to talk to about this.

We're putting 20 people in a circle of chairs at Millenia Walk to talk about it properly. Not peace as quiet, not peace as stillness, not peace as the absence of stress. Peace as the inner ground we keep losing and trying to find again, especially in a country like ours where we're trained to keep going no matter what.

The conversation will sit with the things most of us flinch from. The cost of holding it together. The lines we tell ourselves to keep going. What it actually takes to put something down.

The panel is three people whose lives and work each touch the question from a different angle:

Wally Tham runs Big Red Button and has spent over a decade in storytelling and organisational development around the things most of us would rather not look at: race, the haze, COVID, civic life. He brings the elder voice in the circle.

Ron Yap is a counsellor and the person behind @mentalhealthceo, a platform followed by over 375,000 people because he speaks about this stuff the way most professionals don't: plainly, personally, without the clinical distance. He's spent years working with people on anxiety, burnout, and the version of OCD nobody talks about. He knows what it costs to keep going, because he's had to figure out how to stop.

Marshall Lim is a criminal lawyer who spends his professional life sitting across from people whose lives have come apart. He also contested in Hougang at the last general election. The way he carried himself through that race, especially in the harder moments, is the third reason he's in this circle.

Two hours, no stage, one mic. You're allowed to just listen.

Come if it speaks to you.

$20. Doors at 7pm. Tuesday 19 May.
