ALMA RUSS TRIO
Alma Russ, from Mill Spring, North Carolina, has a sound that mixes country gold, Appalachian tradition, and Americana soul. Music has taken her from hometown bars to churches, performing across the country since she was 19 years old, including a stint in Hollywood on ABC’s American Idol, season 1. Her influences include John Prine, Gillian Welch, Emmylou Harris, and Lucinda Williams. She recorded her critically acclaimed album, Fool’s Gold (2022), in an abandoned church in the West Texas desert.
