Music for Trance States: Secret Sky

Music for Trance States is an event aimed at cultivating a shared space for exploring altered states of consciousness. The evening showcases Sean Kiley’s guitar duet Secret Sky composed for his PhD research on sound and trance which surveys our understanding of how music can influence our state of being. The piece itself traverses many different kinds of repetition and rhythmic patterns, which are found in most trance-oriented music.

We invite you to come participate in this ongoing search for trance states through music and space. The seating for the event will be relaxed with open space for laying down and movement. Comfortable clothing is encouraged and it is recommended to bring a yoga mat or pillow.
