Julia Alcantara & Charles Johnson have been training flamenco musicians for over a decade. Whether you are an experienced musician in another style of music, or a novice that is coming to find out what flamenco is all about, you will feel right at home in our brand new community center. Bring your friends or family and find out all thats going on in this hidden gem of a location convenintly located off I-30 near the SPCA.
Julia Alcántara has been bringing the best of Flamenco to North Texas since 1998. She graduated from UNM in Albuquerque, the heart of flamenco in the US, where she studied Art, Art History, Flamenco History, choreography, improvisation, singing, and classical Spanish dance. She performed Bolero with the Irving Symphony in their “Dallas Treasures” concert. She has produced 15 Flamenco Festivals, toured 90 cities in the US and was the 1st American Flamenco Company to be invited to perform in Malaga, Spain.
Charles Johnson aka "Luckie Abejorro" is a key artistic support to the Flamenco Fever Academy. His experience as a musician covers more than 30 years of guitar, bass and hand percussion. Since 2015, he learned the basics of each type of song/dance playing cajon. Then, dancing himself until he finally dove into guitar with the various guest artists that have come to teach over the years. He made his debut last year as Dallas’ newest flamenco guitarist accompanying singing and dance for: Sevillanas, Tangos, Alegrias, Tientos, Guajira and various Villancicos for the Xmas Season.
