20:00 - WOOLLEY + LIVE MUSICIANS
Hailing from Bristol and One half of disco party-starters Compact Discotheque, WOOLLEY’s signature blend of disco-rooted grooves, laced with cosmic shimmer, acid squelch, and chugging low-end power are a guarantee to get even the stiffest hips swinging.
For Old City Sounds, WOOLLEY steps up with a hybrid set that blurs the lines between DJ and live performance. Expect live musicians seamlessly weaving around the decks, creating a fluid, spontaneous energy where each moment feels alive delivered with that undeniable WOOLLEY warmth.
19:00 - SHAKE YOUR BRASS
Shake Your Brass provides a fresh and unique take on your favourite drum n bass tracks with a line up of four horns, drums, percussion and bass they do aim to quite literally blow you away. Having recently appeared on BBC Radio Wales for a interview with Roy Noble, to performing on the main stage of Cardiff Castle with Clean Bandit - this band is unstoppable. Shake Your Brass are always ready to party, and it’s one party you certainly do not want to miss!
17:30 - BAD TRAFIC
Bad trafic are a blueshop band from Bristol, consisting of Johnny Trafic, Mr Hudson, Doctor Chocolate and Jimbo Slice. I promise you haven't heard anything like this before, trust me we've checked. Blues and Hip-hop have met at an intersection and have formed together creating Bad Trafic. Live, they're unreal and their tracks are unmatched. Come see what the fuss is about and Lean Into It.
16:15 - HARMER JAYS
Harmer Jays seamlessly weaves rich instrumentation, distinctive stylistic choices, and soaring vocals to craft a contemplative and intensively concentrated sonic flow. Inspired by an eclectic mix of trailblazers such as Joji, Maggie Rogers, and Bon Iver, Harmer has cultivated a unique sound, and one that thrives on vulnerability and evocative Persuasion.

Weaving familial experiences into a sweet melody, LUNDA embodies the fresh new feeling of indie rock and soul music. Soulful, captivating & powerful. That is what an audience can expect from the singer who collaborates closely with her songwriter-partner George and her talented band who deliver music that promises to ignite a fire in your soul. Originating from a deeply artistic French by-way-of Congolese heritage, the piano regularly pumped through the walls of her house, and this bountiful sound had no bedtime. Today, you can find LUNDA enthralling audiences, exuding eccentricity and boundless energy, “I am labeled as the Sunshine Kid, as I am always (mostly) smiling.”
WHATS GOING ON?
The much-loved Old City Sounds festival returns to Bristol’s historic heart on Saturday 23 August, with the first wave of programming just announced. Now in its third edition, the one-day free festival is set to be the event’s most ambitious year yet,
Nearby, Mr Wolfs will deliver an all-day street-to-club party from 3pm to 4am, starting outdoors and ending with a full-scale, late-night event. Headlining the venue’s programme is Shake Your Brass, a funk-pop brass band known for their dynamic live shows and high-energy crowd interaction.
Paul James, Programming Director at Mr Wolfs, said: “The energy last year was electric - crowds were dancing all day and the venue was full until the early hours. We’re upping the ante for 2025.” Additional sets include a live outdoor DJ running until 10pm, before the party moves indoors with early sets from local acts such as Lunda and Harmer Jays headline set from DJ Chef De Party.
Sabrina Shutter, Project Events Manager, said: “Old City Sounds is a joyful celebration of Bristol’s cultural soul. We’re proud to champion the city’s independent spirit – not only through the music and performances, but through the people, spaces and stories that make the Old City such a vibrant part of Bristol’s identity. It’s the perfect way to spend time during the Bank Holiday weekend and it’s all completely free.”
