About this Event

The Metro Parks' disABILITIES Programs will be hosting a 5-week Inclusive Volleyball League League for athletes with and without IDD. Games will be played on the following Saturdays from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.

League Days -

  • April 11th
  • April 18th
  • April 25th
  • May 2nd
  • May 9th
  • Special Olympics Volleyball Competition May 16th & 17th

There is no fee to participate in the Leagues, but all athletes need a valid Sports Physical (Special Olympics physicals are accepted) and an MPDSL Sport Waiver completed.

Athletes & Partners

Athletes with disABILITIES must be 18 years of age or older with a valid sports physical completed within the last 3 years. Inclusion athletes must be 18 years of age or older, and have a signed volunteer form to participate. All athletes should come wearing athletic shorts and tennis shoes. We will provide jerseys each week, and will collect and wash them at the end of each game day.

Volunteers

Volunteers are the backbones of what make our leagues run effectively. We are in need of volunteers to play on the court as well as help keep score and be sideline officials. If you are willing to volunteer in any of these capacities, please email Jonathan Shelton at [email protected]. Volunteers can come just 1 day or each week. We can also fill out any paperwork to verify service hours for school or other needs except court ordered community service hours.

Sponsors & Partners

Our Season Sports Leagues are provided free of charge to all of our athletes thanks to the generosity of our Sponsors. Our sponsors include The Friends of Metro Parks disABILITIES & Magic Programs. If you are interested in sponsoring the Metro Parks disABILITIES Sports Leagues, please contact Glen Adkins ([email protected]) or Jonathan Shelton([email protected])

For questions about MPDSL Sports Leagues, please contact our office at 615-862-8489 or email Glen Adkins at [email protected].
