This fall, join us for free film screenings on the lawn of Lincoln's summer residence. Among other things, the Lincoln family came to the Cottage to relax and enjoy each other's company, and we invite you to do the same. Bring a picnic (or popcorn) and sit back!

SEPTEMBER 9 - ONWARD

AUDIENCE CHOICE! For November's showing, we're letting you decide which you'd rather see - Pixar's INSIDE OUT, or BILL AND TED'S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE. Voting opens September 1 - cast your ballot online or in-person at President Lincoln's Cottage. Information about both films is below:

About: Riley (Kaitlyn Dias) is a happy, hockey-loving 11-year-old Midwestern girl, but her world turns upside-down when she and her parents move to San Francisco. Riley's emotions -- led by Joy (Amy Poehler) -- try to guide her through this difficult, life-changing event. However, the stress of the move brings Sadness (Phyllis Smith) to the forefront. When Joy and Sadness are inadvertently swept into the far reaches of Riley's mind, the only emotions left in Headquarters are Anger, Fear and Disgust.

About: Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted (Keanu Reeves) are high school buddies starting a band. However, they are about to fail their history class, which means Ted would be sent to military school. They receive help from Rufus (George Carlin), a traveler from a future where their band is the foundation for a perfect society. With the use of Rufus' time machine, Bill and Ted travel to various points in history, returning with important figures to help them complete their final history presentation. PS -- A certain president makes a surprise appearance!

Movie Night screenings are FREE unless otherwise noted, and are open to the public. Event program and schedule subject to change.
Covid-19
Visitors three years and older are required to wear face masks while indoors. Film screenings will take place outside on the grounds of President Lincoln's Cottage. When possible staff and visitors will maintain 6-feet of social distancing to reduce the risk of COVID-19 exposure.
Armed Forces Retirement Home
President Lincoln’s Cottage is on the grounds of the Armed Forces Retirement Home. Security for the Armed Forces Retirement Home requires visitors to show valid identification at the security gate in order to enter the property. Please be prepared to show your ID.
Exploring beyond the boundaries of President Lincoln's Cottage is not permitted and results in trespassing on federal property.
Pets are not allowed on the grounds.
