About this Event
With the very first breath we take on this earth, we release a sound—a raw, honest cry. Over time that sound is shaped into words, then stories, and sometimes into song. Through sound, we learn to listen deeply, to feel heard, and to be seen. From there, we begin to see ourselves, others, and the world around us in new and tender ways. From this place, we move through life with a clarity that may not have been available to us before—toward what we seek and long for.
We warmly invite you to join Rasha Gad, Expressive Arts Therapist and drummer, and guest facilitator Theodore Lowry, song weaver, storyteller and educator, and Hassti Hamidi, open-format DJ —in a shared community space for a unique experience of movement and sound exploration.
Together, we will journey into playful discovery, engaging with movement and the vibrations of sound we create—using our bodies, our voices, our surroundings, and simple musical instruments.
Come just as you are, bringing whatever feels present—curiosity, softness, playfulness, a sense of humour, or simply a willingness to explore.
No prior experience in art, music, or performance is required.
Meet Rasha Gad
Rasha is an Expressive Arts Therapist, Registered Therapeutic Counsellor (RTC), drummer, dancer, mother, sister, daughter—and above all, a human devoted to living creatively. She lived many years in Vancouver and now calls Salt Spring Island home, where she is deeply immersed in music, dance, and nature as part of her daily life.
Her core modalities of creative expression include music, movement, living spaces, and food. Over the years, Rasha has facilitated monthly community gatherings in Vancouver, creating spaces where people could come together to express freely through sound, music, dance, storytelling, and other forms of creative expression. She continues to cultivate similar spaces on Salt Spring Island.
She is grateful to return to Vancouver for this special weekend—reconnecting with her beloved community, collaborating and sharing this space alongside her dear friend, Hassti.

Meet Hassti Hamidi
Hassti Hamidi is a conscious dancer, DJ, and space holder devoted to the transformative power of music and movement. As the founder of Ride the Rhythm, a conscious movement practice in Vancouver, she curates dance journeys that invite people to reconnect with their bodies, emotions, and authentic expression. Her musical style blends global sounds, ambient textures, and melodic electronic rhythms to create an unfolding arc on the dance floor. Through these experiences, Hassti invites participants to move beyond thinking and into feeling, where movement becomes meditation and community becomes a space for connection and shared presence.

What is an Expressive Arts and Conscious Movement Journey?
This Expressive Arts and Conscious Movement Journey is a gentle, guided experience that weaves together conscious movement and expressive arts as pathways for self-expression and inner exploration. Rather than following choreography or artistic rules, participants are invited to move, create, and express freely, allowing both movement and creative processes to emerge organically.
Through music, movement, and facilitated invitations, this practice supports authentic self-expression and embodied awareness. It offers a supportive space to slow down, release stress, and reconnect with the wisdom of the body, emotions, and imagination. No prior dance or art experience is needed! Curiosity and openness are enough.
