Move with Purpose — Every Step Supports Safer Meals for Children
Join us for an inspiring evening of movement, music, and community at Move with Purpose, a Zumba fundraising event hosted by the Rotaract Club of Ottawa designed to bring people together in a fun, welcoming, and energetic space. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned dancer, this event is open to all experience levels—come as you are and enjoy a night of connection, positivity, and impact.
🗓 Date: Friday, April 24, 2026 ⏰ Time: 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM (Zumba: 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM) 📍 Location: 120 Lisgar St, Ottawa, Ontario (Knox Presbyterian Church) 🎟 Tickets: $15 (students) | $20 (non-students)
All proceeds from this event will go toward funding a safe, sustainable cooking stove for Thika Road Primary School in Kenya.
The school serves over 2,000 students and 30 dedicated teachers. For many children, the meal they receive at school is essential—but it is currently prepared outdoors on the ground in unsafe conditions. A proper stove will greatly improve safety, health, and dignity, creating a meaningful and lasting impact for the entire school community.
What to Expect
💃 Zumba Session (6:30–7:30 PM) An upbeat, easy-to-follow workout led by instructor Tracy Atkins that will leave you feeling energized and accomplished.
🧁 Bake Sale Enjoy homemade treats whose proceeds further support the cause.
💌 Letter Writing Station Take time to write thoughtful notes to loved ones or members of the community.
🎷 Live Saxophone Music & Social Time Relax, connect, and unwind with live music after the Zumba session.
