Our Mourne Madness trek is back this summer! Join #TeamAutismNI and climb the highest peaks in Northern Ireland. This year, you will have a choice to take on a one day challenge or complete 5 peaks over two days.Our treks are led by our amazing Mountain Leaders who have supported Autism NI for 20 years and have the experience and expertise to lead our group up the Mournes.
The route
Saturday 13th June 2026 - The group will leave from Meelmore Lodge and climb two peaks including Slieve Commedagh (765m) and the mighty Slieve Donard (850m) before returning to Meelmore Lodge. The trek on the first day will take the group roughly 6-7 hours to complete and it is approximately 14km.
Sunday 14th June 2026 - The group will leave from Meelmore Lodge and summit Slieve Bearnagh (767m) , Slieve Meelmore and Slieve Meelbeg. The time taken will vary considerably depending on your fitness and experience, however most people take between 5-6 hours to complete this second day challenge, including some short breaks. The route is approximately 12km.
The costs
One day challenge (choice of either Saturday or Sunday): £30pp. Sponsorship target: £150pp.
Two day challenge (includes accommodation at Meelmore Lodge and breakfast): £60pp. Sponsorship target: £200pp.
