About this Event
This course is intended for surgeons, colorectal surgeons, obstetricians/gynecologists, and urologists for the purpose of furthering surgical education in complex pelvic surgery. It will include surgical anatomy and landmarks relevant to procedures with distorted anatomy due to pathologic conditions, or due to prior surgical scarring. Robotic surgery tips and tricks will be included for complex pelvic surgery impacted by endometriosis, cancer, pelvic floor prolapse, and inflammatory conditions. Pelvic floor disorders that benefit from sacral nerve modulation will also be included. Multidisciplinary care and pain management for complex pelvic surgery will be addressed.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
1. Describe relevant surgical anatomy and landmarks in the pelvis.
2. Understand robotic surgical methods for various complex pelvic procedures.
3. Describe pain management and management of complications in complex pelvic surgery.
