Palette Knife Painting Workshop

Celebrate Mother’s Day with a creative experience that honours connection, appreciation and the quiet strength that shapes the people we love. This expressive palette knife painting workshop invites you to slow down and enjoy a relaxed, meaningful afternoon exploring colour, texture and intuitive mark-making.
Guided by Melbourne-based artist Angelina Mirabito, PhD, this immersive session introduces the sculptural technique of palette knife painting, where paint is layered and shaped to create richly textured surfaces. Through gentle guidance and creative prompts, participants will explore how colour, movement and material can express gratitude, warmth and personal reflection.
Whether attending with your mother, gifting the experience, or taking time for yourself, this workshop offers a thoughtful way to celebrate creativity and connection. Each participant will create a unique contemporary abstract artwork that captures the feeling of the day.
Suitable for all experience levels, this welcoming workshop provides an enjoyable and supportive environment to explore contemporary abstract practice through texture, gesture and colour.

About the Artist
Angelina Mirabito is a Melbourne-based artist with a PhD in Creative Writing and deep roots in intuitive, expressive artmaking. Her painting practice explores the body’s relationship to texture, movement, and emotion, using unconventional tools like palette knives, sticks, and her hands to build tactile, layered works. Her workshops invite others to step into this playful and powerful space of creative expression.
