Colours Of Emotion
Palette Knife Painting Workshop
23 May | 3–5pm
Colours Of Emotion invites participants to explore how feeling can take form through structure, balance and material presence. This expressive palette knife painting workshop draws inspiration from the relationship between inner experience and visual composition, investigating how texture, weight and spatial tension can convey emotional depth.
Guided by Melbourne-based artist Angelina Mirabito, PhD, this immersive session combines intuitive art-making with the tactile, sculptural qualities of palette knife painting. Through layering, compression and gesture, participants will construct surfaces that echo architectural principles such as stability, rhythm and containment, while allowing emotion to move freely within the composition.
The workshop encourages exploration of contrast between density and openness, control and spontaneity, structure and flow. As materials are built, shifted and refined, each work develops as a personal structure shaped by sensation, memory and perception.
Suitable for all experience levels, Colours Of Emotion offers a reflective and supportive environment to investigate contemporary abstract painting through the interplay of structure, texture and feeling.
