About this Event
Motherhood is an empowering and expansive chapter of life - one that requires us to dig deeper into how we want to show up and clearly define the values that will guide this sacred journey. Join us for a groundbreaking day retreat, created for expecting mothers and those with babies 0-2 years old, that dares to challenge the traditional narrative of what it means to be a mother. This isn’t about fitting into a box—it’s about breaking out of it and defining motherhood on your own terms.
At Kalo Fitness, we’re all about empowering women to take control of their own journey, providing you with the tools, knowledge, and community to thrive in this powerful phase of life. This isn’t just a retreat; it’s a revolution in how motherhood is perceived and experienced.
This retreat is extremely limited (capped at 30 participants) to honor the container. We highly suggest securing your spot as we do expect this event to sell out. Not in this phase of life but know someone who could greatly benefit? Please send this to them, or consider purchasing as a gift.

A 30 minute individual supportive call post event with Niccole Hendrickson, co-owner of KALO Fitness
10am-10:30am - Niccole Hendrickson, Co-Owner of KALO Fitness:
We'll kick off this event with our WHY behind creating it - the permission to do motherhood on your own terms. Too often we see mothers under resourced and overwhelmed in this new chapter of life. We're here to change the narrative and provide what we wish we would've had access to, to support this beautiful chapter of life.
10:30am - 11:30am: Carolyn Kubena, Nervous System Specialist:
A mother's awareness of her own stress responses and emotional states can significantly affect her baby's developing nervous system, and also be a powerful tool for labor itself. We'll explore how recognizing and managing your own stress creates a nurturing environment that promotes secure attachment and healthy neural pathways during the critical early years of your child's life.
11:30am - 12:15pm: Dr. Rachel Baldwin, OB-GYN
We'll explore how to build a trusted support team and foster a flexible mindset - because while goals are important, the best birth plans embrace going with the flow. Learn how to advocate for your needs with your OB, unite your doula/midwife team, and boldly address topics most providers overlook. Through open Q&A and evidence-based insights, we'll equip you with the tools to align your motherhood experience with your personal desires.
12:15pm - 1:15pm: Connect and Nourish
We'll NOURISH you with a local lunch from The Green Collective. We'll use this time to connect, ask questions, and indulge in quality nutrients.
1:15pm - 2:00pm: Dr. Kylie Faildo, Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist
We'll dive into the importance of pelvic floor after childbirth, preventing issues like incontinence, pelvic pain, and decreased core stability. Rehabilitating these muscles helps restore their strength and function, which is essential for bladder and bowel control, sexual health, and overall physical well-being. Understanding this enables mothers to recover more effectively, supporting a healthier body and enhancing their ability to care for their baby.
2:00-2:30pm: Dr. Jaclyn Goslin, Prenatal & Pediatric Chiropractor
During pregnancy, a woman’s body undergoes significant changes, and chiropractic care can help by balancing the pelvis and spine, fostering an environment for a freely flowing nervous system. We’ll explore how gentle adjustments alleviate common discomforts like low back pain, sciatica, and round ligament pain, while also preparing the body for labor. Whether pre-conception, prenatal, or postpartum, chiropractic care supports and empowers women through each stage.
2:30-3:00pm: Geneva Montano, midwife, womb medicine practitioner, mentor, and author of Wisdom from the Womb: The Magic of a Baby-Led Birth.
Explore the feelings that aren't commonly spoken about in regards to childbirth and the years after including things like fear and grief, and tap into the ancient wisdom of your womb to navigate birth and postpartum with confidence. This will be a powerful lecture, empowering opportunity to reconnect with your inner strength.
3:00pm - 3:45pm: Niccole Hendrickson, Co-Owner of KALO Fitness:
We'll call this final mindset based section: Motherhood Unplugged. Niccole will provide the framework to giving yourself permission to align this journey with your deepest values, dive into the emotions, expectations, and choices that come with this new role, and provide real life experience on how to make decisions that align with who you are and want to be as a mother, not who society expects you to be.
3:45-4pm: Create a Flower Bouquet
Embrace your femininity and creative power with an expressive flower arrangement activity, symbolizing the life and beauty you’re creating.
This retreat combines all of the resources we wished we would've had as a new mother, all into one beautiful day retreat. It is your chance to redefine what motherhood looks like for you, and is much more than just a day away—it's an investment in your well-being and a step toward stepping into alignment and power as a mother.
We know many of you may still be pumping, and will have a refrigerator for your milk if needed. We will also provide coffee, tea and snacks throughout the day.
If this is something you want to attend but are not in a financial space to do so, please send us a short summary of your journey thus far and why attending this would be of value to you personally. We will be providing 2 scholarship opportunities for those who fit into this category. Please email your responses to [email protected].
Invest in yourself and your motherhood journey. We can't wait to welcome +support you!
