Join us for a night of music and storytelling from the intimate confines of one of New York's treasured historical landmarks!
About this Event

‘Mother Outsider’ represents the experience of those who have moved away from their comfort zone - be it country, culture, ecosystem, or artistic endeavors - to express creativity in a place more suitable for their voice. It is a movement that gives prominence to those who aren't afraid to use their voice apart from the structure of support of someone who orginated where their true purpose lies.

Mother Outsider will feature three exceptional musical acts with readings interspersed, weaving a storyline throughout the show. Dont miss out on this dynamic performance featuring the all too rare cross collaboration between artist and author.

Featured artists include:

Jesse Harris is a Grammy Award-winning songwriter, singer, guitarist, and producer of artists from all over the world. Originally from New York City, he began making records in the mid ’90s. Since then he has released more than 20 albums under his own name, as well as many others with various projects and artists. His latest, Paper Flower, a collection of new songs, was recorded in Paris with his old friends Kenny Wollesen and Tony Scherr (who used to accompany Jesse as The Ferdinandos), plus special guests.

She is a natural with human concerns and insights that touch something deep inside all of us."

The New York-based singer and songwriter, Vanisha Gould has been a fixture at uptown venues and downtown clubs for the past several years, leading various bands. Through frank delivery and subtle-gestured phrasing, she shares stories teeming with empathy, humor and self-reflection.
