About this Event
You are warmly invited to a Mosaic workshop evening led by the artist Eleanor McLean on Friday the 24th October from 3.30pm to 6pm, hosted at Kendal Street Kitchen as part of The Connaught Village Art Month.
The session will involve approximately 30 minutes of generating ideas followed by up to 2 hours to build a 15x15cm mosaic artwork.
Participants will select from a variety of pre-cut, coloured ceramic and glass pieces to create their own mosaic artwork. In keeping with the theme of the exhibition, they are invited to explore childhood memories, acknowledging that memory is often imperfect, fragmented, or even partially imagined. Their mosaics will serve as loose representations of these memories, capturing details and emotions through colour, shape, and form. The creative process will begin with brainstorming through drawing and text.
Each piece will be grouted by the artist and ready to collect on the 26th October between 4 and 5pm from 21 Connaught Street.
All proceeds from the workshop with go to the ACME charity.
Refreshments and food will be available to purchase from the restaurant throughout the evening.
We look forward to seeing you there!
