Join us for Morning Calm with Nicole Yim, pianist from the Royal College of Music, who will be playing works by JS Bach, Schubert and Rachmaninoff.

Morning Calm is a short piano recital beginning at 8.40am, consisting of around 10-12 minutes of music followed by a few minutes' silence for reflection and meditation before ending with brief prayers for the day ahead. You are most welcome to stay for the whole recital or if you would prefer not to stay for the Christian conclusion to leave just before the end. Morning Calm aims to offer a reflective and calm start to the day for people of any faith or none in the hustle and bustle of the West End of London.
As always admission is free.
Nicole Yim graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) with First Class Honours and is now pursuing her master’s degree at the Royal College of Music as the Muriel, Lady Kadoorie Music Scholar.
Nicole has performed at venues such as the Austrian Cultural Forum London, St. Peter’s Vauxhall, Lee Abbey London, Hong Kong City Hall, Vienna Golden Hall, the Amphitheater of the HK Academy for Performing Art, and for Tom Lee Music. She has collaborated with the APA Student Orchestra, the HKAPA Academy Symphony Orchestra and the New London Harmonia, and has performed under the baton of Maestro Yip Wing Sie and Maestro Lio Kuok Man. Her performances and interviews have been featured on Radio Television HK (RTHK).
Nicole has played in various masterclasses held by world-renowned pianists such as Yury Shadrin, Markus Schirmer, Leonel Morales, Chi Ho Han, Eleanor Wong, Gabriel Kwok, Shir Semmel, Xu Hong, and Li Bing Bing. She is the recipient of various scholarships including HSBC Hong Kong Scholarship, Grantham Scholarship, The Helena May Scholarship, HKSAR Government Scholarship Fund - Talent Development Scholarship 21/22, 22/23, 23/24 and 24/25, HKPPAA scholarship, Paulinians Alumnae (Toronto) Scholarships and Mrs. Ng Sun King Man Memorial Scholarships.
She is the winner of multiple competitions including the HKGNA International Music Competition, the Kayserburg International Youth Piano Competition, the Hong Kong International Youth Performance Arts Festival Young Artist Award, the Asia Pacific Outstanding Youth Piano Competition, the Hong Kong-Asia Piano Competition, and the European Star International Festival Young Artist Award. Her teachers include Grace Li, Julie Kuok and Norma Fisher.
