Emmy nominated writer and comedian, Morgan Murphy was born in Portland, OR and moved around frequently before settling down in Los Angeles. After graduating from college, Morgan was hired as a writer on Crank Yankers, and went on to write for late night shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and HBO’s Game Theory with Bomani Jones. Morgan has also served as a writer and producer on sitcoms such as 2 Broke Girls, Roseanne, Modern Family and most recently, Abbott Elementary.She has appeared on screen in Comedians of Comedy: Live at the Troubadour, World’s Greatest Dad starring Robin Williams, and other Bobcat Goldthwait films: Sleeping Dogs Lie and God Bless America. She also made appearances in It’s Kind of a Funny Story starring Zach Galifianakis, The Goods starring Jeremy Piven and The Jim Gaffigan Show (starring Jim Gaffigan!). She has appeared as herself on shows like Chelsea Lately, @Midnight and Drunk History, and podcasts like “WTF with Marc Maron,” “The Joe Rogan Experience,” “Doug Loves Movies” with Doug Benson and “The Doug Stanhope Podcast.” As a stand-up, Morgan has performed at clubs and festivals in the U.S., as well as internationally, was named a “Top 10 Comic to Watch” by Variety Magazine, and Rolling Stone included Morgan in their “New Wave of Comedy” where they dubbed her “the lethal deadpan.”
