Join us for an unforgettable weekend where nature, mycology, and community come together for our Morel Festival at the Tree of Life Farm. Here's your full schedule for the weekend, designed to provide immersive learning, hands-on experience, and a sense of connection with fellow enthusiasts.

March 28th-29th
A Weekend of Mycology, Foraging, and Community Celebration
Friday, March 28th:
4:00 PM – Gates Open
Welcome to the Tree of Life Farm! Upon arrival, check in at the registration desk to receive your name tag and sign the necessary waivers. Camping is available on-site for those wishing to stay overnight.
5:00 PM – Welcome to Tree of Life (ToL) Orientation
Join us for an overview of the weekend’s events. Our team will introduce you to the farm, our mission, and what to expect during your time with us.
5:30 PM – 7:00 PM – Community Potluck & Social Hour
Share in a communal meal with fellow attendees! Bring a dish to share or come as you are to enjoy the bounty of our community. This is a great time to mingle and connect with like-minded individuals.
7:00 PM – Gates Close
Please make sure you have arrived and are settled in, as the gates will close for the evening to maintain a safe and quiet environment.
7:00 PM – 8:30 PM – Introduction to Mycology
Kickstart your weekend with a deep dive into the fascinating world of mycology. This presentation will cover the essential ecological roles of fungi in nature, their cultural significance, and their applications in wellness. We will also explore key features for identifying wild mushrooms and safety considerations for foragers.
8:30 PM – 9:00 PM – UV Mushroom Foray
Grab your ultraviolet black lights and join us for an exciting UV mushroom foray. Discover the beauty of fluorescent fungi as we search for glowing species in the wild!
9:00 PM – 9:30 PM – Specimen Walkthrough & Discussion
After the foray, gather to discuss the mushrooms we’ve found. Our expert mycologist will lead a walk-through, providing insights into each specimen’s characteristics, uses, and ecological significance.
9:30 PM – 10:30 PM – Sound Bath Experience
End the evening with a relaxing sound bath, designed to soothe the mind and body. Experience the healing vibrations of a handpan, tongue drum, sound bowls, and didgeridoo, creating a tranquil atmosphere to restore balance.

Saturday, March 29th:
8:00 AM – Gates Open
Welcome back! Upon arrival, check in and sign any remaining necessary waivers.
8:30 AM – Breakfast
Start your day with a light breakfast, including coffee, tea, and fresh snacks, to fuel you for the activities ahead.
9:00 AM – Gates Close
The gates will close to ensure a safe and focused learning environment. Please make sure to arrive promptly.
9:00 AM – 10:30 AM – Introduction to Mushroom Identification
Join expert mycologist Sebastian Tabibi for an in-depth session on wild mushroom identification. Learn to distinguish between edible and toxic species by examining key anatomical features, ecological roles, and common identifying traits.
10:30 AM – 12:00 PM – Morning Mushroom Foray Around the Property
Head out with Sebastian on a guided foray around the property in search of morel mushrooms and other species. Along the way, we’ll discuss each species’ role in the ecosystem, their edibility, therapeutic benefits, and identification tips.
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM – Lunch & Intermission
Take a break to enjoy a light, nutritious lunch. Feel free to explore the farm and relax before the afternoon activities.
1:00 PM – 2:30 PM – Introduction to Morels: Finding, Identifying, & Cooking
In this focused presentation, Sebastian will cover everything you need to know about morel mushrooms. Learn how to identify different species, where to find them, how to distinguish false morels, and safe preparation and cooking methods.
2:30 PM – 4:00 PM – Afternoon Mushroom Foray
Embark on another foray to explore the forested areas of the property. With a focus on morel mushrooms, we’ll also look for other interesting species while discussing their roles, uses, and identifying characteristics.
4:00 PM – 4:30 PM – Specimen Walkthrough & Discussion
After the afternoon foray, gather to review the mushrooms collected. Sebastian will lead a discussion on each species' identification, ecological role, and potential medicinal or culinary uses.
4:30 PM – 5:30 PM – Fungi Apothecary: Crafting Medicinal Mushroom Tinctures for Health & Healing Workshop
Learn how to craft your own medicinal mushroom tinctures. This workshop will cover the basics of tincture-making, the benefits of various medicinal mushrooms, and how to incorporate them into your wellness routine. Take home practical knowledge for creating your own potent remedies.
5:30 PM – 6:00 PM – Evening Wrap-Up
Take a moment to relax, stretch, and reflect on the day’s activities. Mingle with fellow attendees, exchange experiences, and prepare for the evening’s festivities.
6:00 PM – 12:00 AM – Community Potluck & Drum Circle (Open to Public)
Join us for a lively evening of food, music, and community celebration! The potluck is open to the public, so bring your family and friends. Enjoy a meal, share stories, and participate in an energetic drum circle under the stars to connect with the rhythms of the earth.

Additional Notes:
Address: Tree of Life Farm is located in Ravenna, Texas, and participants will receive the address in an e-mail confirmation once you place your order.
Attire: Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for outdoor activities, as we’ll be walking through the property and having presentations in our "Sage Cottage", which does not have any utilities hooked up yet. Bring layers in case the weather changes.
Bathrooms: Please note that Tree of Life Farm does not currently have indoor bathroom facilities available. However, we are excited to offer eco-friendly, compostable toilets located on the property. These sustainable restrooms are designed to minimize our environmental impact while ensuring a practical solution during your visit. We are also pleased to share that we are in the process of constructing our third building on the farm, "Sage Cottage", which will feature an indoor bathroom for future gatherings and events. The funds generated through this course will directly support the completion of "Sage Cottage" and help us continue to improve the amenities and experiences we offer to our community. We truly appreciate your understanding and support as we work toward enhancing the farm’s infrastructure in alignment with our sustainability and community-focused values.
Presentations: Presentations will be held in our "Sage Cottage", which is the third building on the property that we are developing with the funds generated through the revenue from this course. Currently, the building stands as a shell with the hope of finishing it out to serve multiple purposes for future retreats and gatherings.
Food: Please bring enough food for you and your party for the extent of your stay. We will be having a Lunch and Evening Potluck and encourage participants to bring something to share with others from our diverse community. At Tree of Life Farm, we consider ourselves a sanctuary for all living beings, and as part of our commitment to compassion and sustainability, we encourage plant or mushroom-based dishes. We kindly ask that you refrain from bringing meat or poultry products to the farm, and instead, enjoy our vegan and vegetarian cuisine options which reflect our values of respect for all life and the planet.
Camping: Camping is available and included in the cost to attend the Morel Festival. Please come prepared for the duration of your stay.
Dogs: We will be having classroom style presentations and we ask that you keep your dogs at home.
Bring a Chair: We encourage you to bring a portable chair to make yourself comfortable during our presentations, as well as a journal or something to take notes with during sessions and document any important information during the day.
Water & Hydration: Stay hydrated especially during outdoor activities. Potable water and hot tea will be provided by Tree of Life Farm.

Tree of Life Farm Refund Policy for the Morel Festival
Thank you for your support and interest in attending the Morel Festival at Tree of Life Farm! We are deeply committed to ensuring you have a positive experience, and we understand that plans can change. Below is our refund policy for event registrations:
Refunds for Event Tickets
Refunds Available:
Refunds are available for ticket purchases up to two weeks before the event (by March 14th, 2025). To request a refund, please contact us at [email protected] with your order details. Refunds will be processed back to the original payment method.
Refunds After Two Weeks:
We are unable to provide refunds after the two-week cut-off (after March 14th, 2025), as preparations for the event, including logistics and materials, are already underway. We encourage you to transfer your ticket to another participant if you are unable to attend, or reach out to us to receive credit towards a future Tree of Life Farm event of equal or lesser value.
Event Cancellations:
If the Morel Festival is canceled by Tree of Life Farm for any reason (such as extreme weather, unforeseen circumstances, or health and safety concerns), full refunds will be issued to all ticket holders. In the event of cancellation, attendees will be notified via email, and refunds will be processed promptly.
How to Request a Refund:
If you are eligible for a refund, please reach out to us by email at [email protected] and provide your order number and contact information. We will confirm the refund process and timeline.
Important Notes:
Refund requests made after the two-week period or for other reasons (e.g., personal schedule conflicts) will not be honored.
We encourage you to plan ahead and reach out for any changes to your attendance as early as possible.
