Join us in person for an engaging hustings event all about giving Scotland's animals better protection in the next parliamentary session.About this Event
6pm arrival for a prompt 6.30pm start. Please aim to arrive at 6pm for a hot drink and chance to mingle and chat before we begin.
Fifteen leading animal protection organisations have come together to ask candidate MSPs to do more for Scotland’s animals if elected.
The Hustings will be chaired by Roo Irvine, presenter of BBC’s Bargain Hunt, and will bring together representatives of the main political parties to speak about how their party plans to bring progress for animal welfare.
This is your chance to ask party candidates questions about the animal issues that matter to you.
The Scottish Parliament has enormous influence on the welfare of the millions of animals we share this country with. Companion, farmed and wild animals all depend on the Scottish Parliament to ensure the appropriate laws are in place to allow them to flourish, protect them from harm, and to allow people and animals to enjoy a positive relationship. Together, let’s show candidates and parties how important that is.
Speakers:
Ariane Burgess - Scottish Greens
Helen McDade - Reform UK
Joanna Mowat - Scottish Conservatives
TBC - Scottish Labour
