Moorfields’ nursing team is proud to announce that through the continued support of Moorfields Eye Charity, the annual nursing conference will return to the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, 10-18 Union Street, London SE1 1GH (closest station London Bridge) on Saturday 18 May from 8:30AM-5PM.
Our annual nursing conference will mark the celebration for International Nurses Day, which this year takes place on May 12, the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth. Florence Nightingale was also a governor of Moorfields and is remembered as the founder of modern nursing and a healthcare pioneer.
It will also celebrate our one year anniversary of achieving Pathway to Excellence designation, and provide an opportunity to share the developments over the past year and our future plans.
This year’s annual nursing conference will be hosted by our Chief Nurse Sheila Adam, and feature a selection of interactive talks covering a wide range of topics including:
· A message from Dame Ruth May - Chief Nursing Officer for England
· Guest speaker: Eamonn Sullivan MBE - National Clinical Director/Deputy Chief Nurse for the New Hospital Programme
· Showcasing the career journey of our international nurses who have joined Moorfields
· Guest speaker: National Shared Decision-Making Facilitator, Coventry University Hospital
· Nurse leads from Abu Dhabi and Dubai
· Internal speakers from across Moorfields
The event will be face-to-face only. Food and refreshments will be provided on the day.
Registration is free, and places will be allocated to each division, you are advised to apply following discussion with your line manager or matron. Applications will be approved through divisional heads of nursing.
