About this Event
Girl Swallows Nightingale (GSN) is the mythic art-pop universe created by Oakland artist Marica Petrey. Her music channels the spirit of the Nue (鵺) — the night-crying yōkai of Japanese folklore — blending cinematic sound, expressive movement, and mythic storytelling into a singular world.
This premiere marks the debut of Moonlight Sessions, a live performance film EP and the second collaboration between GSN and Oakland cinematographer Jon Sun / Jyun (寯).
The evening unfolds as a fully immersive experience — cinematic screening, live music, dance, and theatrical performance. Guests are invited behind the veil, drawn into the lyrics and emotional architecture of GSN’s world.
Each attendee will receive a handcrafted relic — a tangible piece of the world to carry home.
