🌙 Moon Night at Botton Village – Explore the Wonders Above!
Step into the night and experience the magic of the Moon under some of the darkest skies in the region. Hosted in Botton Village, part of a protected Dark Skies Reserve, this family-friendly evening is perfect for anyone aged 8 and above who’s curious about our closest celestial neighbour.

- Informative talk – learn fascinating facts about the Moon, its phases, and its place in our solar system.
- Telescope viewing – get up close to the Moon’s craters and mountains through high-powered telescopes.
- Moon meteorites – see real fragments from our lunar companion and discover their story.

Our moon event will be expertly led by Cosmic Wonders, Sophie Carroll - an experienced science educator, Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society, and Associate Member of the Institute of Physics. Sophie will illuminate the wonders of the night sky and share fascinating insights into stars, planets, and constellations.
Bring a blanket and get cosy on a deckchair as we experience the wonders of the night sky.
This event is suitable for ages 8+ and limited to 30 places, so booking is essential!

Space at our events is limited, so booking is essential. Everyone attending, regardless of age, must be on the guest list.
While we welcome guests of all ages, our sessions are generally more engaging for children aged 5 and older.
It's advisable to dress warmly and bring a blanket. Stargazing nights in Botton Village can be chilly, so layers are recommended! A complimentary hot drink is included, and we have a heated indoor area if you need to warm up.
We don't recommend bringing dogs, except certified guide and support dogs.
Please be aware that mobile phone reception within Botton Village is often limited or unavailable.

Public events typically last between 2 and 2.5 hours.

Our stargazing events proceed even in less-than-perfect weather conditions. Even if the skies are cloudy, there will still be plenty to enjoy.
REFUNDS ARE NOT ISSUED ONCE BOOKINGS ARE CONFIRMED.
BOOKINGS CANNOT BE RESCHEDULED DUE TO CLOUD COVER.

To keep our events sustainable, we are unable to offer refunds or rescheduling due to cloudy weather.
We will only cancel events if weather conditions pose a safety risk.
In the rare event that we cancel due to hazardous weather, you will have the following options:
- Reschedule your booking to another available event date.
- Receive a gift certificate equal to your booking value, redeemable for another event.
- Receive a full refund of your booking amount.
