🥾 9 miles 🥾 Moderate 🥾 Leader: Vicky E 🥾
The fourth section of the Cleveland Way will start from Whitby bus station at about 10.30am. We’ll walk along the bustling seafront before picking up the trail towards sleepy seaside village of Sandsend. From there, we'll continue along the rugged cliff tops, providing panoramic views of the stunning Yorkshire coastline, before stopping for lunch at around the 4.5-mile mark. After taking in the views, we’ll head down a steep section to the beach and walk across the shore to the picturesque, old fishing village of Runswick Bay.
⚠️ Whilst the majority of this walk is fairly easy going, there is a steep climb up some steps just after Sandsend, a short, steep (and slippery) section down to the beach and a steep ascent back up the hill to the car park from the bay.
