Location: Check in at the Charlie Norr Community Center (316 W Atlantic St)
The Moon City Creative District in the Woodland Heights Neighborhood is a unique live/work overlay district zoned to support artists and makers. The district encourages spaces where people can create, live, collaborate, and share their work with the community, helping make Woodland Heights one of Springfield’s most colorful and creative places.
One of the ways this particular corner of Woodland Heights shows its creative spirit is through the painted light poles found throughout the area. Several years ago, artists and neighbors came together to transform these poles into small pieces of public art. Now it’s time once again to bring new life and color to some of the poles with aging designs.
We’re organizing a community pole-painting day to repaint and update artwork on select poles throughout the Moon City Creative District, and we’d love to have volunteers join us!
🖌 What to expect:
• Help repaint and refresh light pole artwork around the district
• Work alongside local artists, residents, and fellow creatives
• Be part of a long-running neighborhood art tradition
• Spend a day outdoors making the Moon City Creative District even more vibrant
• Paint and Materials provided
Whether you’re an artist or just someone who enjoys helping with creative community projects, this is a fun way to contribute to the neighborhood.

***You will receive a confirmation email with additional information before the event. Before painting all participants must sign a waiver at check in.
