Autism United of Wisconsin and St. Francis Children’s Center are excited to collaborate each month to create a welcoming, inclusive, and joy-filled community space for families raising children with special, support, medical, and developmental needs!
This monthly gathering is more than just an event — it’s a place to build your village. A place where families can connect with other parents who truly understand similar life experiences, celebrate milestones together, and create lasting friendships in a supportive and judgment-free environment.
☀️ During the summer months, families can enjoy our large fenced-in ADA-accommodating playground featuring:
• Splash pads & water play
• Water toys & sidewalk chalk
• Extra towels provided
• Ice cream & water for families
• Plenty of space to run, play, and explore safely
🎨 Each month, children will also enjoy thoughtfully planned art activities and creative experiences with special take-home projects designed for all abilities and interests.
🏡 Inside our spacious Family Activity Center, families will find a calm, open, and sensory-considerate environment designed with safety and comfort in mind:
• Wide open play areas with excellent parent visibility
• No choking hazard toys
• No electronic toys or televisions
• Soft background music children often enjoy
• Quiet sensory tents for breaks and regulation
• Headphones available for sound sensitivity
• Heavy exit doors and secured spaces for added safety
• ADA-accessible bathrooms
• Sanitized toy procedures, including separate cleaning protocols for mouthed toys and shared items
Every detail of this program is designed to help children feel successful, safe, and included while giving parents and caregivers a place to breathe, connect, and feel supported.
