About: Every five years the abbot journeys into town to sell leftover preserves, leaving the two medieval brothers in total isolation. On this rare occasion, the brothers have invited a wagon full of strangers to their austere abode to do what they’ve always dreamt of: nothing. In this one hour clown epic, trying to complete their duty of counting lentils, rescuing their donkey, and keeping the monastery from ruin, turns into the quest of a lifetime. MONKS features physical comedy, magical realism, unbridled chaos, and every interpretation of the word ‘ass.’
