Monk | Parker | Gillespie - The Origins of Bebop, pays tribute to three of the greatest jazz musicians of our time, Thelonious Monk, Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie. Corey Butler, Founder and Creative Director of Zamar Music has put together this docu-concert that explores the prodigious contributions made by Monk, Parker and Gillespie in the creation of a new style of jazz beyond the popular swing music style. Compositions and improvisations characterized by fast tempos, rapid chord changes, dissonances, angular melodic twists and complexed syncopations were all common threads when listening to the music of these 3 jazz titans.
