WHO: Calling all TRANSGENDER, INTERSEX & GENDER EXPANSIVE FOLKS OF ALL AGES and our allies together in south Minneapolis at the small 50th Street beach at Lake Nokomis!We are inviting all folks from our gender fabulous kids all the way to our amazing elders, and everyone in between to this intergenerational extravaganza!
WHAT: Community, beach, snacks, beverages, swimming fun! Everything is free, any donations will go directly to fund TIGERRS youth groups and intergenerational events. Please bring your own sunscreen!
WHERE: The small 50th Street beach on Lake Nokomis, look for the pride flags hanging from the trees and polls! We'll be in the grassy area to the right of the swim area under the trees.
ACCESSIBILITY CHECK: Masks and social distancing will be highly encouraged. We ASK that all folks be fully vaccinated before coming.
Here are some specific details on suggestions to stay safer from COVID while attending, directly from the CDC themselves!

😷 Feel free to wear a mask & bring an extra incase yours gets wet, they don't work wet. Because we'll be outside so they are not required.

🤧AND PLEASE stay home if you're sick! Love you and your community by taking care of yourself and not spreading germs.
There is street parking for cars and bike racks right next to the beach. There is also a parking lot about a city block down from the beach. There are walking paths that lead right to the grassy area. There's also a cement path that leads almost all the way into the water, depending on water levels.
To the right of the beach are cement stairs that lead into the water in an unsupervised (no life guard) part of the beach.

The best bus route to take to the 50th Street Beach is route 22. The closest stop is at 28th Ave. & 50th St, about a block or so away from the beach. https://www.metrotransit.org/route/22
You can transfer to Route 22 from a few different lines: the Green Line if you're coming from Saint Paul (get off at the West Bank station), the Blue Line from other parts of Minneapolis (get off at the VA Medical station, the 38th St. station, or the Franklin Ave. Station), and the C Line from Brooklyn Center (use the Brooklyn Center Transit Center or get off in downtown Minneapolis).
