About this Event
Join guided walk leader John on a springtime stroll around Moncreiffe Hill to explore the history of the area, including one of the Iron Age hillforts.
Tickets are free but please book ahead in order to help us manage numbers.
Meeting point
Please meet at Moncreiffe Hill Tay Car Park on the North side of the wood. The walk will begin from the car park.

There is parking at Moncreiffe Hill Tay Car Park,Moncreiffe Hill, Perth, PH2 8PT. The what3words for the location is ///quaking.jaundice.rocket.
Access
The northern Tay car park has the easiest access to the hillforts. Much of the path network is made up of wide, stone-surfaced forest tracks with loops of different lengths and grades. The unsurfaced paths can be muddy and very steep in places, especially the section to Moredun Fort.
Facilities
There are no toilet facilities on site, the nearest public toilets with disabled access are in Perth at Marshall Place, Ropemakers Close and Perth Bus Station on Leonard Street.
Extra things to know
- Under 18’s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- Well-behaved dogs welcome on a lead.
- Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for a walk in the woods and on steep terrain. The group will be outdoors for around 2 hours, which includes a half hour on exposed hilltop. Good waterproofs, walking boots and warm layers are advised.
