Join us for the start of our summer speaker series, Moments of Time featuring paleontologist, Brittney Stoneburg. Presentation: It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Drone! Using Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) in Paleontology and Beyond
UAS (Uncrewed Aircraft Systems) are one of the latest tools in the scientific toolbox - they can not only give scientists a bird’s eye view of their field sites, but present new opportunities for digitization, preservation, and discovery. From the badlands of New Mexico to the glacial fjords of Alaska, learn how researchers are using drones to advance our knowledge of our changing environment.
Brittney Elizabeth Stoneburg is a vertebrate paleontologist, science communicator, and earth science educator from Southern California. She is currently the Collections & Communications Manager for the Western Science Center and an incoming lecturer in Environmental Studies at California State University, Fullerton.
