About this Event
The Hello Forties documentary explores the complex lives of four 40-something professionals. The documentary takes audiences on an emotional journey through the real-life stories of Pittsburgh native, comic and entrepreneur Tony "T-Robe" Roberson; Washington, DC playwright, actress and entrepreneur Dana Hicks-Hungerford; NYC producer, creative director, and life coach Rachel Urena; and UK-born, Emmy nominated filmmaker and LGBTQIA+ advocate Fiona Dawson, who resides in Austin.
Throughout the documentary, we observe these four characters as they deal with significant life challenges. Each story culminates with each of them finding their 'Aha moment,’ harnessing their strength and forging ahead.
"Even in 2022, the perception remains that your life is to be completely figured out by 40," said creator, director, and executive producer Monique Holley. "We set out to create a film that takes a real look at a segment of our population that’s often overlooked: those 40-49. We hope that this documentary starts a dialogue for people of all ages, races, and walks of life about important topics like mental health, addiction, the spectrum of sexuality, and gender expectations."
