This session provides a basic introduction to my book *Modern Data Analytics in Excel*, designed to help you get the most out of the material. We'll cover a general overview of the tools used throughout the book, show you how to find them in Excel*, and walk through some hands-on data analysis and exploration.

You don't need to have read the book to participate. This session will prepare you to dive into the book afterward.

By the end of this free online training, you’ll be able to:

Build a complete extract, transform, and load (ETL) workflow using Power Query
Create a relational data model with Power Pivot
Generate AI-powered insights with Analyze Data

Prerequisites

To make the most of the workshop, you will have some experience in Excel topics such as conditional logic with IF()/IFS()/SUMIFS(), etc., lookup functions like VLOOKUP() or XLOOKUP(), and summarizing/aggregating data with PivotTables.
* It is recommended that you attend this workshop on a PC with Excel for Microsoft 365 on desktop. I’ll do my best to assist and troubleshoot if you encounter any issues or don’t see a feature working on your version, but please note that there are limitations to how much I can help during a live session.
No other preparation is needed.

About your instructor

George Mount is the founder of Stringfest Analytics. He has over 10 years of experience in data analytics and holds master’s degrees in both finance and information systems from Case Western Reserve University.
