Join Mellor & Rose at Stringers Lytham on our Modern Calligraphy Workshop on Saturday March 14th from 11am – 1:30pm!
Modern Calligraphy is fun to learn and relaxing to practice. Join us at Stringers Lytham on our Modern Calligraphy Workshop with Spring theme this New Year and start your Calligraphy journey with this mindful, creative pastime and art form.
Guided by expert tutors; Lucy Mellor and Polly Mellor, you will begin by covering the fundamentals of how to hold the dip pen, learning the pressures and rhythms that give calligraphy its characteristic contrasting strokes before moving onto learning the upper and lower alphabet, how to link letters, first words and phrases. You will learn how to draw decorative illustrations and flourishes to complement your calligraphy lettering on stationery pieces. The second half of the workshop covers how to lay out greeting cards, letter up and design a piece of wall art along with luxury stationery items.

Booking wise, we confirm bookings via £69 PayPal invoice sent to your email before the Workshop – bookings are non-refundable but are transferrable if 2 days notice is given.

We’re Mellor & Rose Calligraphy; Calligraphers and Lettering Artists based in Lytham St Annes, North West of England. Mellor & Rose is a family business who are passionate about sharing the Joys of Calligraphy and all the wonderful and creative benefits it brings. In 2025, we will be hosting our Workshops in Lancashire, Liverpool, Manchester, Cheshire, Cumbria, Yorkshire, London, Leicestershire, Cotswolds and Gloucestershire.
