Medium: Watercolour
Lesley Linley was our Month of Art 2025 winner with her depiction of the Hopton Hall Airstream Caravan. We will be exhibiting her latest watercolours in the gallery in the run up to the 2026 Month of Art Competition.
Lesley works in traditional watercolour, a medium that she finds exciting and challenging. Most of her working life has been art related, as Graphic Designer, Tutor, calligrapher and painter; she now concentrates on painting. She lived on the Isle of Skye for almost fourteen years and opened a studio there, running watercolour workshops for local people and visitors from UK and overseas. Her paintings have made their way to the USA, Canada, Europe and Australia.
Her favourite subjects are the landscapes with which she is so familiar, places which evoke memories, areas of Skye and Lochalsh and Derbyshire. Flowers and glassware provide another source of inspiration, combining her love of flowers with complex shadow patterns.
