Perth-based Jamie Oehlers is recognised as one of Australia’s leading jazz artists, solidified by his win at the World Saxophone Competition in 2003.This group will play original
compositions by Oehlers that capture his fascination for the chordlessbapproach – think ‘Ornette Coleman meets Paul Motian and Charlie Haden’.
Collaborating with Oehlers (tenor saxophone) on this improvised journey are three of Australia’s finest musical talents in Mat Jodrell (trumpet), Sam Anning (double bass) and Felix Bloxsom (drums).
